Abstract

|
Batten disease (Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, NCL) is the term describing a group of neurodegenerative diseases of which the major pathognomonic feature is the accumulation of autofluorescent lipopigment in various tissues including neurons.
This
study presents the clinical features of 6 patients who had been diagnosed as Batten disease by means of skin biopsy and electron microscopic evaluation from March, 1989 to March, 1994.
